For context, I have ~2 years of experience, backend dev role.
Online application, phone call with recruiter, one hour technical screening. There's another interview after that but I didn't make it that far.
Phone call was fine, typical background info and reason for applying stuff.
The interviewer for the technical screen was super awkward and didn't seem prepared for the interview. He pasted the wrong problem into the IDE we were sharing, then pasted the entire problem instead of part 1, etc. Then he was mostly silent during the interview. At some point I also had thought I misunderstood the question so I started redoing a section for like 5-10 mins before he said my initial solution was right. He confused me a lot during the interview and made me think I was doing it wrong several times before I finally realized I wasn't.
In terms of the actual question, I felt like the technical screen was pretty hard for just the initial screening. I honestly didn't prepare that much because even Microsoft's one hour screen was very very easy and I was super busy in the week leading up. So I didn't end up figuring out the final part of the question and must've gotten disqualified for that.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
a) Reverse string. given a string, just straight up reverse it. so "hello world " was " dlrow olleh" (i believe I was supposed to maintain the whitespace, but I can't remember tbh, this was something he confused me on and kept explaining it weirdly so I kept going back and forth)
b) Reverse the words in the string. given "hello world" return "world hello" (keep the spaces, again idk if this right though)
c) Reverse words in a string but maintain the punctuation in the original positions. So given "hello, how are you doing?" return "doing, you are how hello?"
could've been a 4th part I didn't get to but this is as much as I did
Leetcode style 1 hr technical along with 1 hr behavioral with pretty standard questions. Interviewers were both really nice and hardest part of technical were the follow-up questions but the interviewer was very helpful.

I scheduled a first round technical interview. Recruiter emailed 2 days later saying position filled. Very disappointing. Phone screen was good descriptive and helpful. Shoukd of flagged rolling hiring. Was for junior engineer role.

Overall, the interview experience was good, with questions ranging from a moderate to slightly challenging level. There were a total of four rounds, and the difficulty progressively increased with each stage. The initial rounds focused on fundamental concepts and gradually moved toward more in-depth problem-solving and advanced topics in later rounds. This progression allowed for a structured evaluation of both core understanding and the ability to handle complex scenarios.
