They approached me via recruiter. I went through two rounds of phone interviews before being invited in for a three hour in-person interview. In person, however, I was surprised by the lack of age diversity within the company, which I felt didn't bode well for my candidacy.
They did not offer me a tour of the facility, and I was told they "weren't sure" which department I would be working in if I were hired. And considering how run-down, disorganized, and crowded the office appeared overall, it didn't seem like the right environment for me anyway.
I had heard quite a bit of criticism that they lack a work-life balance, which may explain their hiring of younger employees who don't have families to get back to every night. When asked about it, they said they are "working on it."
They did not make me an offer, which honestly, was a relief. I would not have accepted even if they had.
