      Entretien

      I had a phone screening with a recruiter and after that an in person interview. I met with three people in the office over the course of two hours. Each person was kind, interesting, and obviously knowledgeable and friendly. Frankly I was nervous before it started but was instantly at ease with each Toast staff member I interacted with.

      On the topic of internal mobility: the hardest part of the interview process at Toast is dealing with the Talent Acquisition team and getting feedback on interviews where you did not get an offer. Record your initial phone conversations with TA because they have a tendency to "forget" initial offers they made before asking if you were interested in moving forward with the rest of the process, only to deny ever making such an offer when you actually get a (lower) one on paper. Also, they and/or the hiring managers, depending on their role, will forego any specific feedback in place of niceties in attempt to encourage you to not lose faith in the process even though there's no shot they'll hire you. "Keep doing what you're doing and sound more enthusiastic on the phone next time" is not what I would consider helpful interview feedback for a job I applied for multiple times.

      Entretien

      I applied online and got a response in less than a week to schedule a telephone interview. The day of the interview received an email apologizing for the schedule conflict and the recruiter will get back to me later in the week to schedule a new date and time. That was June 28th. Mid-July I did reach out the recruiter asking if we can schedule an interview that week, no response. It's now Mid-August and I haven't heard from anyone since June 28th.
