This is one of those smaller, isolated universities where recruitment processes aren't that objective - and on purpose: they will give you the feeling that it is a fair process, going to the extent of flying an already doomed candidate 1000s of kms, to give the impression that they do care about inclusion and diversity. And when you arrive for your campus visit, surprise surprise: almost nobody is on campus to meet you. Treating candidates as commodity isn't a real choice or done on purpose to hurt them, it is just a byproduct of an outdated and prejudiced recruitment system.
