I applied through an agency and got a telephone interview pretty soon after. The interview was fairly straight forward based around competency based questions; the interviewer, however, came off a little combative. Upon completion of the interview I was asked to be in the office for the next working day - not ideal for me considering I wasn't very local and they did not seem to care about that. The interview was conducted by the same individual that carried out the telephone interview and a colleague. What followed was one of the most uncomfortable hours of my life. The interviewer came across more combative in person than they did on the phone - absolutely no need for this considering that it was essentially the same questions that were asked on the phone. I sat through the interview just wanting to leave due to the horrible atmosphere that was created - one that I think they were enjoying. I could understand a top tier investment bank grilling me that way, but a fairly new start up? Seems absurd to me. Especially when they were bragging that as a company that they were the 'new, modern and friendly way of doing finance'. That did not come across at all. Also, as the interview dragged on, the role became more clear and was not really like how it was advertised - the role was more a cold calling role. I never heard another word out of them despite them promising me that they would give me feedback and update me on my application. Not that I was that bothered - I did not want it any way! Just shows their ambivalence towards applicants. Do yourself a favour and save time by not applying here.
I marked the interview as difficult to due the uncomfortable atmosphere that was created - the questions were straight forward enough however.
2 rounds. First round talk with senior research analyst, behavioral questions. Second round talk with team head, stock pitch, case study. Long discussion, taking around 90 minutes, asking everything in the cv

Dont let them trick you into thinking this is an actual research position. You will be cold calling people most of your day. The interview process is relatively simple, first spoke with a recruiter who passed me onto an in-person round. I never heard from them after that.

Question 1
Given this case industry, what types of industry experts would you contact on behalf of a client who is looking to invest in a company within that sector.
Had an interview for Forum role in Hongkong. Straightforward interview. The recruiter was very pleasant and nice, she was very professional. Prepare for your understanding of the role, although she was very nice in explaining the role in details, you knew it’s a major concern if you have no idea about the position youre applying. She also provides transparent feedback which I really appreciates. Not all companies or recruiters do the same. I always see this recruiter in job fairs and she’s overall nice and very accommodating. I would recommend trying an interview as it will change your perspective about the company and the role.
