In the Netherlands, interviews happen in stages. First is an interview with HR. The second level is with the hiring manager. The third interview was with an entire team. Everyone I encountered at ThermoFisher was pleasant to speak with from the ladies in the UK calling to set up interviews to the entire Team of interviewers

They ask to interviewees to present a 20-minute PowerPoint presentation on any subject. Afterward, they review and ask questions pertaining to the job title itself.

I had 3 interviews, which I feel is quite standard. HR Screening, hiring manager, and one to meet the team. HR rep was really responsive and easy to contact. Team was super friendly.

Process was disorganized and poorly communicated from the beginning. I received one interview invitation at 10 PM for an interview the next morning, giving me essentially no time to prepare. Interviewers were unprepared and stated that they had not read my resume before speaking to me. The recruiter was slow to communicate and often required multiple prompts to schedule conversations. I was kept warm for over a month before receiving a generic rejection.
Overall, the process left me with serious concerns about the organization’s professionalism, internal communication, and respect for candidate time. Applicants should approach with caution and expect significant delays and difficulty with communication.
