      Entretien

Initial interview was a standard phone screening. First scheduling was cancelled by interviewer. Was rescheduled the following week, hours before we were to meet. Interviewer sounded unenthusiastic and scripted. At the end when asked if I had any questions, I asked about the interview process expectations and their desired timeline for filling the position. The response was that if they moved forward with me that they would provide that information later on. I continued on to the next round which was a three hour (yes, THREE) assessment of their actual software product. No generic 3rd party or dummy-data skill test like most companies would do. The questions were very vague and open to interpretation. Certainly not written by a skilled analyst for requirements-eliciting purposes. Some questions were clearly outdated and referenced an earlier version of the software that I had no visibility into. Not many questions actually tested my technical or product knowledge skills. Unsurprisingly, a few days later I was informed that I wasn't chosen. Shame on me for not listening to my gut at the get-go: They very likely use this assessment on even the candidates they know they won't move forward with in order to gain FREE valuable analysis of their software from professional product owners. Red flags all around. Learn from my mistake and don't let this company waste your time and worth. Glad it didn't work out and I landed something better elsewhere.

The recruiter reached out. Set expectations of the timeline. The recruiter was knowledgeable, asked questions related to the job. They were communicative throughout the recruiting process. The whole process lasted about a few weeks.

      Entretien

My interview process started with an initial screening with the recruiter, followed by a conversation with the hiring manager and a product manager from her team. While the product manager maintained a generally professional demeanor, the hiring manager came across as disengaged and condescending from the start. Throughout the interview, it appeared that she and the product manager were messaging each other on Microsoft Teams (or a similar messaging app), occasionally smirking in a way that made me feel uncomfortable (as if they were chatting about me). The experience left me with a really bad impression on them and the company.
