The application process was very time consuming. I applied online - I never heard anything back for months and then I received an email about an open day. So I got a flight all the way from Glasgow to London, stayed the night in a hotel and went to the recruitment day the next day. It was an experience I will tell you that. So there was A LOT of waiting around and only one recruiter. She probably spoke 3 words to me when she asked for my CV and documents. I didn’t actually feel like I was at an interview. It felt like it was more of a casting for America’s next top model or something. The room was full of beautiful people who already looked like cabin crew but the whole process was actually incredibly demeaning. Everyone was given a number and then a short list was made - probably only around 30 people made than short list which I assume was further condensed. Long story short, I actually made the short list but the vibe was all wrong for me. Personally, it seemed more glam than it actually is in reality. For the amount of money spent to be at the event - it was not really what I was expecting. I now work for cabin crew with BA. My application was done online, they did not require any photographs. It was a lot more simple and when I went to London to do my exam for BA I was informed that I would be there from 7:30am to 13:30pm. It was more organised and that’s the way that it should have been with Emirates, especially when people are taking days off work and travelling to be told that they’ll have to be free the next day for the assessment.

tough process alot of people will be eliminated even at the first round, quite tough for a fresh grad with only 1 year of experience through internships to apply. Must be prepared to come with at least 2 years of jobs experience eventhough mentioned at least 1 year (to be safe).
