J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Tesla
Entretien
I was contacted by a recruiter. We talked on the phone and it was mostly about the job description. Scheduled to have a phone interview with an engineering manager a few days later. He asked me about my background and asked a few different engineering questions that related to the job including one that involves calculating for something and giving a number value as an answer. If you recently graduated and all this information is still fresh for you, this part might be easy. I didn't pass the interview, but I asked for feedback from the manager and received an honest and specific answer that was very valuable.
Overall the entire hiring process was quick--they are very responsive--and everyone I spoke with was nice and respectful.
Started with 2 technical rounds. First one was basic MechE questions. Second round interviewer was in a hurry and not so open to listening your thought process. There were questions on electromechanical concepts as well
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Difference in bolt torque in hot and cold conditions
The interview was extremely technical. They didn’t ask for an introduction or any background before immediately diving into solving textbook-style engineering problems. The focus was almost entirely on technical problem-solving rather than behavioral conversation or learning about my experience.
Phone screen, Technical foundations test (1 hour, 10 questions on statics, dynamics, E&M, circuits, etc. – sent as PDF and returned via email), technical interviews, on-site behavioral and technical interviews with portfolio presentation.
