      Entretien pour Executive Team Leader

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Target en déc. 2011

      Entretien

I can't say if this is true for all Target stores across the country, but I had a negative experience with HR, scheduling, and the store manager. I first applied online for an ETL position, only for the recruiter to email me back a week later saying "Thank you for your interest in the Part-Time intern position! We will interview you next week at this time, thanks!" (or at least the condensed version). I emailed the recruiter back to confirm I had applied for the right position, and I checked online as well to make sure. No response until next week on the say she had wanted to interview me. I received a call ONE HOUR after the time she had sent me even though I had not confirmed it at that point since I had not received her response back. Apparantly, this recruiter is responsible for Campus recruiting, and saw that I was currently in graduate school so I guess they had a mix up. Anyways, she forwarded me over to Corporate where I scheduled my in-store interview. I was told it would be 3 hours long and we set it for next week. Great! Except right afterwards I got a voicemail saying I have to reschedule (same day, about one hour later...) I called back and we pushed it back another week, a-okay. I was told to complete a test they were going to email me later, which I did in 24 hours. One week later, I received an email saying my location for the interview has been moved to a store to a neighboring city. Going to be almost an hour drive, but that's alright. I like Target and the position seems promising thus far, so I replied and said okay. Two weeks later, I was ready for my in-person, 3 hour long interview at the District Office. It was at 1:00PM, as I left the door at noon, got a call from the first original recruiter saying "Sorry it has been canceled!" That should have been my red flag right there. One hour notice!? Good thing I lived in the city! She apologized and said she will begin the first part of the interview with me over the phone, and we took an hour for it, 5 questions like the ones on this website. Then she said she will have the second recruiter schedule another interview with the Store Team Leader and the District Team Leader next week together. Great! The other recruiter emailed me, and I called him to set up a time. Got feedback at this point saying my answers were great, even tips on how to work on one of my cases I gave for the 5th question. The next day I got an email saying the District Manager can't make it so I will just meet the Store Manager next week. I said okay, since they have changed times/dates with me 4 times already. At this point as you can tell I have been very flexible with them, and figured I will just impress them separately. I met with the Store Mgr the next week, no other ETL's with him just one-on-one in his office. I must say, the rudest guy I have met and very condescending. He kept looking around the room and although he acknowledged my answers, in between each question he just repeated how busy he was and how busy the store was (it was during December so I get it, but still...). After I answered the 5 questions using STAR method, he wrapped it up by saying "so you don't have any questions, right? you got everything cleared up with the recruiters?" I still asked a question I needed and he seemed like he really wanted to leave... I called the recruiter right after the weekend as the Store Manager did ask me to follow up next week. She said she just came back from holiday and will let me know the next step before the day ends. End of day, nothing. That was a Tuesday. I emailed a follow up Friday. It wasn't until the Tuesday after that week did I get a generic email saying they chose someone else. What was supposed to be a fast, friendly, and fun experience turned out to be, slow, rude, and bothersome! I wish everyone else the best of luck, and don't let them jerk you around too much on the scheduling. Maybe I just got a bad manager. :) Still happily employed elsewhere.

It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
