Applied online. Got a call to arrange a phone interview. I arranged it for the start of my lunch break during my working day so I'd have enough time to still get something to eat afterwards. They called me half hour late! Apologised but that still meant I was late back from lunch! Lasted about half hour.
Then got asked to a one-to-one interview with a store manager. Usual type of interview. Was a very good experience.
Then got asked to go to a store to meet a area manager. It was going to be a local store but last minute they changed it to one around an hour away!
Arrived and he was busy so had to wait around 40 minutes to be seen. Completed a swot and then had to walk around with him. He really liked the points I made on the floor walk. He then asked me some questions and discussed salary expectations etc. Took about FOUR HOURS in total!!
Got a phone call around a week later - There was no actual job to hire me for as it turned out! They were just talent pooling. Told they definitely wanted me to join them but had to wait for a 'restructure' before they would have the funds freed up.
Then a month later got a voicemail from the area manager - still no job yet but wanted to assure me they were keen.
Yep - that was almost a year ago! What a joke. Shame as the company seemed a great fit for me.

Question 1
Would you be willing to travel to this store or that store - the more you agree to the easier it'd be to place you. (Quite pushy!)

Generic stage 1 interview, boring questions - very easy
Stage 2 - Insight day, spend 3 hours walking around a store followed by a 10 minute chat with a district manager.
Got the decline two days later with feedback that was completely untrue such as; You didn't mention staff progression, this was a complete lie as I am proud of my staff progression history and spoke about it to all three touchpoint staff throughout the insight day.

Would you consider starting off as a team leader and work your way up?
