I applied to the open position on the company website. I spoke with a recruiter on the phone for approximately 20 minutes, discussing my background, work history, and experience in the industry. She was honest about what kind of job it was, and was upfront that my experience as a "doer" did not translate to a desk position. After that interview I received an email the following week from another recruiter within the company telling me that despite my "fine skills" they would be moving forward with other candidates.
