First interview is a brief phone screening interview going over the role, confirming salary expectations, and outlining experience. Second interview was on the phone with the design lead going more in-depth on the role, work history, and experience. Specific questions about the role and design mentality were asked. Next there was a design challenge request. The brief provided was very short and vague, and asked the interviewee to create a high-fidelity working prototype from scratch. No assets, copy, or data was provided. This was to be presented in an on-site interview. No compensation for the challenge would be given and more reasonable alternative suggestions were not accepted.
