Contacted by hiring manager (who is a VP and not by the recruiter). Asked to create a powerpoint and present to him in a day or so via Teams meeting. Liked the presentation then asked for a second presentation on a different topic. Liked the second one as well. Requested copies of both powerpoints. I sent PDF versions but he asked for PPT versions. This was odd and I got a sense that he wanted to use my slide decks for his own purpose. I asked about next steps and he said he will talk to his team and get back. I did not hear from him for more than a month until late one evening he reached out via phone and requested me to urgently research a topic and create slides. I did and then asked for a date for the 3rd presentation, but he only wanted the slides (PPT not PDF). This time I got suspicious and was certain that he was only using me and had no hiring plans, so I insisted on knowing the next steps and to send the 3rd slide deck only after meeting with him. He said I know you can present but just need the slides. I sent him an email asking for a presentation date. Never heard from him again. It is very clear that this hiring manager (maybe others too at this company) falsely advertise positions in order to get candidates to do research and create slide decks for them.
