J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Steel City Interactive (Sheffield, Angleterre) en sept. 2023
Entretien
They seem like a great company to work for. The two guys who interviewed me were very nice and I felt like I would have fit in very well. If you applying to steel city make sure you have a firm understanding of computer science. I was asked to list of the 5 solid principles off the top of my head among other things and I was a little caught off guard. Then the guy who interviewed me had to google the answers! I got rejected even though I could do this job with my eyes closed. It was a real shame, but at the end of the day it was their loss. Thought id give you guys a heads up if you took the self learning path like I did. Maybe look at potential candidates work before rejecting them. Just because someone has a computer science degree doesn't make them a good game developer. I worked with amazing software engineers in the past and if you asked them to make a game they either didn't have an eye for it and their games looked like trash or they didn't have enough unity knowledge to solve hard problems in an elegant but performance-aware manner. If someone has worked in the industry for 4+ years they probably know what they are doing.
