Smooth, several processes which were interesting as in each I was able to peel back another layer into the company/culture, ect. 1) Chat with HR 2) A-sync chat with Recruiter via Discord 3) Task with a time limit (paid upon completion for time taken) 4) Chat with co-founder 5) Chat with co-founder Each stage was different from another, it's one of the few times I've been asked to complete a task and it was relevant for them to get an indication on how people think, plan & work. Overall I was kept updated and comms was very easy via discord.

After 2 interview rounds and one assignment which I’m still pending to be paid for, I received a rejection based on a fact that was obvious in my CV. So tell me please, why did I have to lose my time? Totally disappointed by the recruiter, who seems to be looking for a person who she is “comfortable” and “safe” working with. This is what is called also cultural fit in some cases.

Hi, thank you for your feedback! It's interesting to notice that two out of the two candidates whom took the test but didn't get an offer have felt the experience was below expectations. We're taking this onboard, and will re-evaluate if it makes sense to keep this step. If we asked you to complete an assignment is because we felt you had potential to join the team; I'm sorry that ultimately that didn't work out, and left you with a bad impression overall. We're a small team, and we need to be very discerning of the people we get on board, especially in a role that will have so much influence on the rest of the team and on our ability to reach our goals. Thanks again for taking the time to write this, and to participate in this process. Payment has been processed with this month payroll, and should be on your account by now. Feel free to contact us at people-ops@status.im if you'd like to keep the conversation going, or have any other questions - thank you!

I had two interviews and project assignment. The first interview was with HR lady, which basically was walking me through the company and what they have been doing. The second round was with a recruiter via their chat-bot. Pretty standard process, was a nice chat. Between those two interviews had pass couple of weeks, totally scamy process. Then i was move to project assignment phase. They sent me couple of questions and task to prepare and was promised to be paid 200 eur for this home assignment. It took me around 5-6 hours to complete the whole project. I sent it the next day and never heard back or did not received any money. I have sent couple of emails asking for an update, but zero answer. This a scam and they are using free work of the applicants. Not ethical at all and the promise for paying was a scam!

Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m sorry to hear that you were left with such a poor impression after going through this process with us - and I'm taking full responsibility for anything that might have felt uncomfortable, or odd. I completely agree that we’ve been slower than we would have liked in scheduling next steps interviews - and I wholeheartedly apologise for making you wait for almost two weeks ‘in between’ stages. We inform all of our candidates of process timeline at the start, to set expectations - as often this can take weeks, while we give all applicants a fair chance. We’ve done our best to be available for any questions both on Discord and by email, but I do take your point that we should have been more proactive with more frequent check -ins and updates. I’m wondering however what makes you think we tried to ‘scam’ you or get work done for free. The test is designed to allow candidates to demonstrate their way of thinking and approaching a problem, and not to create actual output that could be recycled. We do indeed ask to identify a couple of profiles that could fit an active role, and to draft an outreach message for a channel of choice; yet it seems a long shot from saying we’re getting work done for free. With regards to payment - we double checked after reading your comment, and we're 100% positive that we have contacted every candidate who completed a test assignment with instructions on getting paid. Our finance department also confirmed that all expected invoices have been received and are being processed, so something doesn’t seem to add up to what you're describing. I’d be really glad to clarify any issues you might have had with payment. You have our contact details, and you're always welcome to reach us personally through Discord or by email, or - if you prefer - you can get in touch with the rest of our team at people-ops@status.im . Again, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re keen on learning and getting better at providing an excellent candidate experience, no matter the outcome. We truly appreciate being given the opportunity to see where we could have been better.
