Passed 2-round phone calls with HR officers from the center in India over 2 days. Scheduled an in-person interview for the Assessment day, which I got never confirmed even though they said they would do so. Would write every week to follow upon my application and ask whether the assessment day date(s) has(ve) been set yet. Initially they planned 4 assessment days within 4 weeks. Eventually, they offered me an internship in the accounting department while I had said specifically during my interview calls I was not an Accounting major neither was I interested in accounting or had any knowledge whatsoever in it. On the contrary, I had told them what departments I was interested to. They told they would get back to me, never have. Never received an invitation on the Assessment day either. Globally, they have not finished the whole recruitment process. At least they should have sent a non-accceptance email, or any other written official answer.

The recruitment process at State Street is usually well organized and professional. It often starts with an online application, followed by a phone or video interview. Recruiters are friendly and ask questions about your experience, motivation, and teamwork skills. Many candidates say the interview is relaxed and focused on behavioral questions rather than technical ones. Depending on the position, there may also be questions about finance, Excel, or basic analytical skills. The process is generally clear, and candidates receive feedback within a reasonable time.

The process was fairly smooth. I was first reached out through a phone call through HR, who asked simple screening questions, such as whether I was still interested in the opportunity, my availability, etc. After that initial call, it took around a week for them to invite me for an interview. The interview was laid back as it was conversational with no technical questions asked. They just want to get to know you--what you do in school, outside of school, hobbies, and interest. Two back to back interviews with senior managers with of the firm. Be sure to come prepared with a lot of questions about State Street and why this field/position.
