After applying, the invitation to interview came more than a month later. After the interview with hiring manager in early March, there was no outcome until a completely automated 'the position has been filled, we cannot progress with your application' email in the middle of June!! The email would have been fine if I hadn't interviewed e.g. simply applied and not shortlisted for interview, but later in the process, there is a fair expectation of better and more personalised communication! The interview itself was conducted nicely enough, but the timelines and communication outside of this was extremely poor. Once you interview someone and ask them to commit that time to preparing and interviewing, a personalised email is the least you can do as a measure of respect for their time.
