I had a mixed experience. After completing a multiple-choice test, I was scheduled directly with the hiring manager, skipping the usual recruiter call, which raised a red flag. The hour-long meeting was only supposed to be 30 min and revealed that the company wasn’t sure what they needed. They’ve never had a QA role before and seemed unfamiliar with QA methodologies, making the position feel poorly defined. Despite this, it was an enjoyable conversation and I wish them luck as they continue to grow and define the role.
