I applied and received an e-mail a few days later from a recruiter to set up a 20 - 30 minute phone call to discuss the position. After the brief phone call with the recruiter, I was invited about a week later to interview with the hiring manager. It was this phase of the interview process that was a bit strange, due to its unconventional nature. I expected the hiring manger to ask me questions about myself and my job history / experience, however that never happened. The manger proceeded to outline some of the everyday tasks, duties, and ongoing projects of the role, which was fine but never really asked much about me. Throughout the interview, I did ask the manager a few questions which he politely answered. About a week later I received an e-mail from the recruiter informing me that they had decided to pursue another candidate. Overall, a good experience and great communication from the recruiter, although the interview itself left me feeling a little confused on how it was conducted.
