The interview process for a mid level software engineer was three parts. An introduction call that talked about the company, team, and laid out the expectations for the interview process which would be a simple code challenge followed by a difficult coding challenge in the final interview

Question 1
They asked some specific javascript questions to test my knowledge. They also asked me about the React lifecycle and we talked about managing state. It felt like a mix of easy and difficult questions as if they were looking for me to admit that I didn't know some of the answers. The code challenge wasn't very collaborative so I had to work through the problems myself.

First was a hiring manager who seemed distracted most of the time and then stepped away from the computer for the rest of the interview. A few other engineers asked some questions as well and conducted a technical interview in Java.
