This review is for Starlink. The interview consisted of 2 phone interviews: one with the recruiter and one with a support supervisor. The interview with the recruiter was simple and I believe merely to check my schedule for the following interview with the support supervisor. The interview with the supervisor was pretty standard, most of the questions were about my prior experience. That was followed up with an in person interview (yes, despite us being in the middle of a pandemic) with the customer support manager, supervisor, product manager and recruiter. They requested a presentation to be put together prior to the interview as well as an “executive summary” asking you to write about 5-6 professional accomplishments. They also ask you what your SAT scores were (how this is relevant if you have a college degree, I have no clue), along with your high school and college GPAs. I thought this was a lot to ask for someone interviewing for an associate level role with years of experience, but it seems like they’re looking for highly intelligent people to fill this role. They show you around the facility (which is pretty cool!) to build value and basically tell you they only hire the best of the best. The interview started with the presentation you put together, followed by questions from the team to test your knowledge on the product. Since Starlink hasn’t launched services yet, hours of research and finding answers in articles is required in order to be prepared. Some questions you just won’t have the answer to as the information hasn’t been made public. After this, the team asked several behavioral questions. It seemed that they’re really trying to see if you’d fit their “vibe” which is what a lot of startups are looking for. They tell you they’ll reach back out to you within 10 business days to let you know of their decision. They didn’t do this and I had to follow up after 10 days to see where I stood. I got a reply almost immediately to let me know they passed on me. I thought this was a little unprofessional especially since they have such high standards for who they want working for them. Like you guys didn’t have a canned response ready to go to let a candidate know they weren’t moving forward?

I advanced 3 phone interviews within one week. The hiring manager, the department manager, and the supervisor. Overtime is expected. I was not able to accommodate the schedule 10-12 hour shift.

This is an amaizing interview experience. My recruiter, Andy, is incredibly passionate and helpful throughout the process. I have not heard back with an offer, but the chance to experience the tour and meet a few of the people that are making Starlink happen is well worth the time. Hoping I get a follow up soon!
