I applied online, and promptly received an invite to an interview. Arriving at the location, I was greeted and instructed to fill out ~1hr worth of paperwork including a basic physics conceptual understanding test.
The next 45 minutes were spent with one of the managers discussing the position, my work history, the physics of acoustic microscopy, my career intentions, and some personal hobbies we had in common. He was a good interviewer. Honest, personable, and easy to talk to. After talking to him, one of the higher ups came in and informed me that the starting pay for the position is a good amount less than I am already making, and we both agreed that the position wouldn't make sense for me.
I would recommend posting a #years experience range and/or a salary range on the job posting.

Pretty standard interview process, 1st round phone interview, 2nd round on-site interview with manager and director, 3rd round with executives. Overall around a month due to rescheduling on their end. Feedback on each round took a couple days to get back.

Question 1
On the second round, they had me fill out a technical knowledge test about the science behind the technology we would be working with. Nothing too hard, just had to define some key words and explain simple phenomena (how does sound work, why is the sky blue).

Applied online and was offered an interview within a matter of a few days. At the interview I was given a paper application for employment and some other forms about myself and a privacy policy. Then I had to take a 30 minute written test, about 20 short answer questions on waves and electronics that you might see in freshman physics courses and labs. I feel like the questions were more to make sure you actually had basic physics courses rather than looking for a deep understanding of a particular phenomena or piece of equipment. I then had an interview with a manager that I thought was very relaxed and engaging as opposed to an interrogation which I feel like a lot of interviews tend to be like. After the first interview I had a second with a different manager who seemed interested in my background but we didn't have an in depth conversation because unfortunately for me I would require a higher salary than what an entry level position would reasonably pay since I would have a very long commute and can't relocate because of family reasons (on the application they ask for your required minimum starting salary).
