I am a fresher from a Tier 1 college, I was contacted through Naukri.The interview consisted of 4 rounds. 1 SQL+Excel MCQ test of 20 questions , 2 technical(Python basics) + 1 HR interview. Nice people, friendly HR and an overall smooth process which didn't take more than 2 weeks. Everything was fine until I was offered the position. The manager called for the salary discussion and said that there will be a 2 yrs bond which was not told to me beforehand!It was somewhat understandable but after hearing the salary package, I was shocked. It was far below my expectations. I felt cheated and it made me feel like they did not value my qualifications and skills at all. 2.4LPA(20k per month in-hand) for a Tier 1 grad that too after many rounds of interviews! No one can survive in Chennai(non natives)with this salary. They are giving this after 3 months of training(even lower salary during training)on basic data analytics tools which was not required at all. If someone was able to clear the interviews and have good skills, it means that person can learn these skills while on the job! And please don't tell candidates about growth opportunities,onsite and all.Every company does it and there is no guarantee that will be fulfilled. These things are not on paper! Suggestions: 1) Give a better salary package to good candidates based on skills and qualifications( no Tier 1 people work for this salary, even data entry people make more !).Why did you even think people can relocate to a costly city like Chennai at this package with no relocation bonus ? 2) Hire locally and from local engineering colleges if the requirements and budget are low, anyway you are giving 3 months training. This will save your time as well as applicant's time. You can also get candidates who are satisfied with the expectations. 3) If you are having a bond contract, please tell to candidates before starting the interview process.It will save time and energy of both parties. 4) Poor job description, cannot get any relevant information from it. Showed opening for Data Scientist in Naukri but interview was for analyst position. Pros: Good interviewers and friendly HR.
