Awful experience. The first round felt very weird because the interviewer praised me to the hilt which felt ingenue at times. She didn’t explain much of the role and she just kept saying over and over that she wanted to know me as a person which I found odd. When I looked through reviews from this department, I see that this group has a “manipulative” vibe and it was written when this person was with the company so my gut instinct was right. The praise was most likely manipulation. In the second round I met with two other people and I can honestly say it was one of the most negative experiences ever. I felt like I was being interrogated by the FBI with their style of questioning and the one guy’s tone. Also whatever answer I gave he was never happy with it. For example he questioned my wide arsenal of skills and asked why wasn’t promoted at my current company. That is very rude question to ask. If I was promoted with my current company I would stay with it. I wasn’t and that’s why I’m looking for a new job. No need to rub salt in a wound. Also when he asked that he had an incredibly smug look on his face. Double ouch. Throughout the interrogation he discovered one skill that I didn’t have and he then harped on that which is also condescending. Interviewing a person doesn’t give you the right to act high and mighty or go on a power trip. To the HR team reading this- please teach interviewers how to be more real and humble during an interview with top talent.

Tell me an example from this part of your résumé. After I provided a response I heard “I want more details.” Or “who was the provider?”
