The first‑stage interview with the internal recruiter was positive — they were friendly, clear, and informative about the process.
The second stage was with a Team Leader and a Head of Department. The Team Leader was professional, approachable, and provided useful insight into the role. The Head of Department, however, came across as noticeably less engaged, which made that part of the interview feel more challenging.
I was ultimately informed that, although my answers demonstrated strong subject‑matter expertise, they did not fully align with So Energy’s ethos and principles. While this was disappointing, the feedback was clear. This role was my third choice at the time, but based on the responsibilities, I still believe it would have been a strong match for my skillset.
Fortunately I had 2 other interviews lined up within the same week of which I was offered both and selected one I’m now happy in
