      Entretien

      I had an intial screening call with a recruiter who went through my experience, asked why I wanted to get back into HR and told me he would schedule an interview with the Line Manager. I then asked the recruiter what time the interview was, when I had to go back on another screening call which turned out to be questions he had already asked on our first call. It was only after the call the interview was finally booked in. Attended the first stage interview under the impression it was a all-rounder HR Role, turns out it was only a systems implementation role and the interviewer wasn't actually keen on hiring a HR person full time, and told me that they and other managers deal with ER themselves. The hiring manager had a problem with me raising potential growth and development opportunities, and the feedback was "I spoke to much" during the interview. The literal whole point of having an interview. Also they claimed that I wanted a Senior Level role in the feedback which I never mentioned, I mainly asked if the person needed someone else to take over the function, so they could focus more on their role. They come across as rude and dismissive during the hiring process, and extremely one-sided. Unless you really needed the role and had no other options, I would consider going elsewhere, as the hiring manager doesn't really a HR person full-time in the long run.

Our interview process is designed to share the role description and responsibilities in more detail with you, so some of the mismatch with what you're seeking vs. what Smartwyre needed does require a discussion to fully surface. We understand that this can be frustrating. We do also try to provide feedback to every candidate about how the interview went and their general fit for a role at Smartwyre. Some of that feedback can be uncomfortable, but we've found that candidates searching for new roles prefer to hear that view from us. We wish you the best in your continued search for a new role.
