Before getting to an interview, they asked for an editorial test upfront. Then said I'd only hear back, if they liked my test. It felt cold. Companies should at least offer a short initial interview before requesting a test or provide feedback to those who complete one. Job applicants invest significant time and effort, and their time should be valued, too.

The entire interview process was ridiculous from start to finish. Not only was it a long and drawn out process, but the team at She Finds was horribly unprofessional and non-communicative. I answered a set of preliminary questions via e-mail, and then moved on to an edit test. Never received notification or followup after the preliminary questions or the edit test. Randomly (about a month later after the edit test) I received an e-mail informing me that they'd like to set up a phone interview. I was pretty excited! I confirmed the date and time for the phone interview. I spoke with one of their editors and responded to the same questions I was asked in the first round of e-mail questions. Seriously, guys? After I answered the last question, I was basically hung up on-- no information on the next steps. No information on the position. A few hours later I receive an e-mail stating that I'm to do a 2nd edit test. Sigh. I sent the 2nd edit test close to a month ago and I still haven't heard a word back from She Finds. Don't waste your precious talent and time on this place. I've read a few other reviews saying that it seems that they take the work of their applicants and use it for content on their site- after this experience I'd have to agree. It's really disappointing as this is a publication I've always admired and respected. No application process should take over 3 months to complete!
