I applied with CV and covering letter as normal. I was not offered the position as the panel felt that I was 'overqualified', even though they had the opportunity to review my CV prior to interview. The panel also seemed to be trying to dissuade me from showing an interest in the position - I felt that they were emphasising the negative aspects of the role. On the plus side, the panel were otherwise positive and upbeat, even offering me a cup of coffee before starting the interview.
