Initially the interview process was pleasant. However that quickly turned sour when the hiring manager decided to reach out to my old boss/ place of employment. At my old job I was bullied relentlessly and left that out of the initial interview as it’s really on a need know basis. Anyways I could tell that the hiring manager whom I previously knew reached out on LinkedIn as I could see my old boss accessing my account. I followed up on the application only to find out the next day I was denied moving forward. This was super hurtful. This practice is also super unethical unprofessional imo. and should be stopped. It is just unfair for the applicants. Its the performance and skill that should matter... there is why theres a probationary period so they can assess performance of new hire. It was for an account manager position that didn’t resemble my previous abilities (as a project manager). I went through something very ugly previous and I would be curious how the conversation went as I am almost willing to bet that there was information passed that shouldn’t have been. Although I was relentlessly bullied at my old place of employment I went on leave and left as honestly I couldn’t even step back into a place where I didn’t feel safe. It was a huge step to apply to a position at another manufacturer. Sensata took this into their own hands and really didn’t care my feelings or to hear my side of the story, adding to the bullying and being silenced in my pursuit.
