1. You will have to apply online or in-store
2. They will not call you, you have to call them first.
3. You will start with an over the phone interview which they ask basic get to know you questions, how you found out about scheels, why you want to work there, why are you leaving your old job, what's your general availability.
4. If you pass the over the phone interview, they will schedule you for your first in-person interview
5. At the first in-person interview you will usually meet with the HR ASL (Assistant Store Leader AKA Manager) They will ask you the generic get to know you questions and evaluate your general hire-ability. You will then give them a sheet with your availability and will be contacted shortly thereafter. For me, it was one week.
6. If you get a call back it will either be them saying "no, you didn't get the job" OR come back in for yet another in-person interview.
7. In the second interview, you will be asked THE EXACT SAME QUESTIONS by a different person. The only difference is you will take a test called the "Long Form" this is a pretty easy test if youve been through highschool. You're graded on time, neatness, handwriting, grammar, syntax, and obviously your answers.
Parts of the test:
Simple Percentage Math i.e. "A $25 Basketball is 17% off. How much does the item cost after the discount?" (Calculator Provided)
Writing an email to an angry customer
Customer Scenarios "What would you do" type questions
What does this word mean to you (Customer service, Teachability, etc.)
8. Once you complete that test you leave and wait for yet another call.
9. If all is good, you will get called in and presented with a job offer for which you can accept or decline. You then have to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
