Entretien pour Market Development Representative (MDR)

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Sazerac (Miami, FL) en sept. 2022

      Entretien

I applied for the Miami, FL position and was immediately emailed regarding a phone call with a recruiter. The phone call lasted a couple minutes considering they told me the position had been filled days prior and wanted me to interview for a position far from my location. Unless you're certain that your position is in the intended location that you're applying for, don't waste your time. Very unprofessional considering this was a waste of my time and could've been mitigated with a simple email.

      Entretien

What a shameful and unprofessional process this company has for interviewing candidates. After 4 resume changes, countless of conversations with my designated recruiter, two interviews with upper management and 2 months of patience on my part purposely keeping other offers at bay from other companies in hopes of the company landing this job only to be strung along and shot down in the end. The nightmare started two months ago when I was reached out to by one of Sazerac's recruiters on LinkedIn. They expressed interest in my background and history with other similar companies, broke down the process of interviewing with Sazerac and provided input on what their hiring managers would be looking for. Little did I know, this was the beginning of a stressful process of constant resume editing and essentially 'free work' by continually reformatting my resume for what I felt was less to make myself look good and more to make their recruiting department look good to company leadership. The interviews with the field leadership managers were professional/great- they used a STAR system to propose situations and gather feedback on what you would/have done in similar situations to grow as a business professional. I was given pointers for the scheduler about how to conduct myself and what he felt were the necessary things to know before engaging with hiring management staff. I felt I did great after every interview and was eventually advised we were "close to offer, but the resume needed to be approved by leadership first". (I don't want to list the name of the person I was told would be confirming my resume as I'm not 100% sure if this was true or a false narrative to keep me interested). I was very transparent with my recruiter that Sazerac was not the only company vying for my services and that another more lucrative offer with more money and a higher position in a different industry was on the table- that being said I still reassured them that they would be my final choice as the Wine and Spirit category is my passion..... In a stunning turn of events and about a month and half into the process, I received a call from a different recruiter in management that advised me she would be taking over my file as my original recruiter was "no longer with Sazerac" and reassured me she would be forwarding my information to the proper channels. If that wasn't weird enough, she didn't know where my previous recruiter left off with me so I had to recap everything him and I discussed. While I saw this as a big red flag (read all of the reviews on Glassdoor about how unstable this company is and the amount of turnover they have due to toxicity/unprofessionalism), I still proceeded to confirm my salary expectations and reassure said recruiter (who asked) if I would sign the offer letter if approved which I responded I absolutely would. The recruiter asked for an additional week to present/approve my offer with leadership. Instead I got no call back and when I followed up with this recruiter when I was told "Your offer was not approved by management and they decided to go with another candidate. Sorry." Are you freaking kidding me?! - 4 Interviews - Online application - 4 Resume edits - Benefits package disclosure - Approval waiting process What more did Sazerac want from me? I went above and beyond against other family's wishes to jump hoop after hoop for them only drop my candidacy at the end. Free work before working! Absolutely disgusting, atrocious way of treating your candidates like a piece of trash. This company is in turmoil....apparently some of their human resource department has quit over the last year. Perhaps I dodged a bullet and I know they're going to respond to this post and use their corporate jargon with a variation of bologna explaining how "this doesn't fall within Sazerac's values" or "We're sorry this happened to you" but I can ASSURE YOU this is common practice with this company. Stay far, far away unless you want to be mentally humiliated even before your foot steps in their broken operation. I challenge any recruiter, manager or person in leadership to respond to this post and tell me how I am wrong about how poorly candidates such as myself are treated. This is why there is a revolving door of talent going to other companies that you hold a carrot on a stick out for only to disappoint and psychologically belittle. Shame on you, Sazerac and your unprofessionalism.

Interview experience was very short and not what was outlined from the recruiter. Seemed like I got pushed through by a national recruiter and the local managers were just checking the box of completing the interview.

Had me change my resume literally 8 different times to fit what they wanted. I had three different interviews. All went well and recruiter told me they were waiting offer approval from CEO. Never heard back and never responded to any emails.
