      Process was very professional and transparent every step of the way. Process took less than 2 weeks from start to offer and I was well prepared prior to each step. The multiple interviews really was to ensure I had the background and skillset they wanted to elevate the team. - Recruiter interview: 30 mins - Hiring manager interview: 30 mins - Four Separated Panel interviews: 30 mins each - Test presentation Interview: 30 mins to 1 hr - VP interview: 15 - 30 mins. Offer from recruiter/ hiring manager.

      Process took three weeks - hiring manager reached out. Interview process was fine just didn’t align with my experience. However I was interested in the role once I got to know more about it but they didn’t even move past first round. Wasted time that I won’t get back.

      After the initial conversation with the recruiter, I had a first round interview with the manager of the team I was interviewing to join. Second round interview was a panel interview with three people, two ICs and one manager. The third round was a PP presentation to a Manager and a Sr Manager, and an interview with the pracrice director. All interviews lasted 30 minutes. ALL feedback was positive, according to the recruiter. I didn't get an offer because I didn't include anything about Samsara specific implementation methodology. The recruiter told me that the team manager said there"is a 40 page document on our website that details what our methodology is" and the recruiter apologized for not giving me a heads up about that document but that she didn't know about it. After the recruiter told me there would be no offer, I searched every link on their website and there is no 40 page document. There are bits and pieces scattered around the 25+ case studies they share online, but no document that jumps out as something that would be relevant to the interview process. Overall, the hiring decision seemed arbitrary and ran counter to the recruiter tellong me right after the third interview that apl comments she saw were positive.

      The candidate process with Samsara was one of the most unprofessional and EEO uncompliant I've experienced in my career. The overall hiring process (nearly a copy of Amazon's process) is unnecessarily complex and convoluted with multiple tiers and panels - wasting time and capacity of all involved; without adding value. The recruiter who worked with me was unprofessional and rude. During a call with her, she was eating a meal (munching in my ear). She initiated the call and so could have called at a time when she available to focus on the discussion rather than her lunch. The recruiter also violated EEO policies when she explained that my location fell in to a lower salary tier (despite cost of living being equivalent to Bay Area) because, "there were a lot of poor people" in my location. No one from Samsara ever contacted me after the final candidate interview despite exchanging texts with the recruiter to coordinate timing for a debrief the day of the interview. Samara didn't even send the generic, "thank you but we've selected another candidate" email. Samsara completely ghosted at the candidate level. Overall, after going through a very lengthy process as a final candidate, Samsara left a very poor impression of the company and its team. Samsara later sent a survey request two months post-candidate interview and to which I provided input on the experience. However, no one from the company ever reached out to follow up.

We strive to create an equitable, inclusive, and great candidate experience and while we’ve made progress, there is still work to be done. Our compensation bands are based off market study research of cost of labor based on the role, level, and geography. Each interview round here is thoughtfully planned out to ensure we are evaluating specific competencies that are directly applicable to the role. We aim to provide candidates with an update within 2-5 business days after their final interview and will discuss this directly with our hiring team to understand where we can continue to improve.
