A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn about a DC manager role at their new facility in Houston. We had an initial interview interview, then an interview with the hiring managers, followed by a panel style interview. It was definitely a lengthy process. I have been through a number of interviews and this one occurred a few months ago. But this was such a great experience that I now compare other hiring experiences against this one. Ultimately, I did not get an offer for the position. But throughout the process, the recruiter I was working with was so professional & so encouraging & so communicative, that it was a memorable experience, even if it didn’t end in a job offer. I hear horror stories and I have been through the experience of recruiters ghosting, recruiters being standoffish and detached from the process, but this recruiter was very accessible, walked me through every step of the process, and let me know what I should expect. She even reached out to me directly to talk to me and let me know that they were not moving forward with me in the process. The day prior to my interview she helped me to prepare for my presentation, and she and her assistant scheduler both even reached out to me the morning of the panel to wish me luck and see if I needed anything (she even offered me the option to call her before the interview if I just needed a 5min pep talk which I took her up on!) This was probably one of the nicest kindest people I’ve encountered in my search and her love for Safelite and her job were so evident. This is what recruiters should aspire to be. I recently was offered a position with another company and also had a good experience but this one stands out as having gone above and beyond. So much has become so fast paced and impersonal and it feels like you’re dealing with bots all the time now , that it’s really nice to see that company still operate this way from time to time.
