The day after I submitted my resume online, I received an email from the recruiter to ask if I was available at 10am the next day. I responded right away to let her know that I was indeed available at 10am the following day. However, I then did not hear back from the recruiter to confirm our meeting time. So I sent a follow-up email the next morning to indicate that I was still available at 10am that day if she needed to contact me. The recruiter responded back to me right away and said she wanted to have a telephone conference with me but was wondering if it could be moved to the following Monday. I responded back right away and said that the change in time would be no problem and that I looked forward to speaking with her then. The designated time on the following Monday rolls around...and I receive no phone call (I had assumed she would contact me, as her email contained no phone number). So I find the recruiter's phone number online from the company's website after waiting 10 minutes into our designated telephone time and try to call her....and get her voicemail. I leave a voicemail and don't hear anything back that day. The next day I send an email asking her if she could please let me know either way if she would still like to talk by phone. She never responded.
I'm really confused as to why this recruiter ever contacted me in the first place (was it just a mistake that she contacted me at all?). Regardless of the reason, it seemed unprofessional not to get back to me and was also disrespectful of my time. I had heard good things about this company from other people, but after this experience, I am not so sure about how this company (or at least this recruiter) manages things. I have never before been "stood up" for a phone interview and probably won't soon forget how sloppy this seemed.
