First interview: A standard HR screening.
Second interview: A technical session with a 10-minute use case. The task could be completed in Excel, Power BI, or another BI tool if time permitted, I did find it a bit rushed, I felt like I did not have enough time. The interviewer was engaged, friendly, and genuinely interested in my background.
Final interview: With a senior executive. Unfortunately, I found them less approachable and not particularly interested in hearing about my experience.
It took about 10 days after the last interview to receive an offer. However, I decided to decline because the salary was at an entry-level rate, despite my prior experience. Additionally, the offer didn’t seem to reflect the cost of living in one of Spain's most expensive cities, especially for a hybrid role. I did try to renegotiate, but HR stated they were not open to adjustments.
While I understand the challenging job market may make it easier for them to find someone willing to accept such an offer, I believe they should consider the experience level of candidates when determining compensation. Overall, I appreciated the opportunity and the effort from the second interviewer, but the process left me with mixed feelings.
