At this tumultuous time in technology, many candidates have had experience interviewing with a multitude of companies. My experience is similar - and unfortunately, Rubrik’s process has been the worst. The process was full of confusion, deceit, and deception. I made contact with a recruiter early on in the process who scheduled an interview with the hiring manager for the managerial role I was applying for. After I prepared for the interview and showed up on time, the hiring manager showed up - late and distracted. The hiring manager then spent a good third of the time remaining explaining why a company similar to the one I had most of my experience at… wasn’t a good fit for Rubrik? I explained the transitive skills that would suit the role well, and retold conversations with employees who transitioned from the former company to Rubrik and had found success. Didn’t matter - this one element of my resume superseded the rest of our conversation, and I spent the last 20 minutes of the interview being told about how bigger legacy companies wouldn’t be a fit at Rubrik. A complete waste of time all around and really encourage the company to be more mindful - if a candidate, for some reason, has an experience at a company that you feel isn’t a good fit at Rubrik, why schedule an interview? I imagine Rubrik wants to reach the scale and size of the company of both I and the hiring manager’s previous experience - why not take the transitive benefits of these companies into account? The hiring manager set uncommon next steps with me, mentioning that she’d have a recruiting coordinator set up an in-person coffee chat with me. Silence for a week. Got a denial email a week later. Would strongly encourage candidates to avoid this company’s interview process - even in the midst of economic turmoil.

Interview was a straight forward process. One interview with HR, and three face to face interviews. Got an offer within 2 weeks, and took about another week for negotiations and acceptance.

Phone interview with a senior manager was first introduction. Call was structured yet personal, and related to my background and the position
Onsite was 3 hours meeting with another senior manager and peers. Peer interviews were well structured and engaging, except for a senior member of the team. He was very condescending from the start, eventually warmed up, during the conversation found out he was passed over for the position and it was very apparent he was bitter. The manager I met with was not engaged in the conversation and was at times very rude.
It took 2 weeks before any communication regarding the interview, which was I was not a fit. Apparently there were other aspects of the position not posted nor discussed.
