Entretien pour PR and Social Media Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Robin Baron Design (New York, NY) en août 2017

      Entretien

My phone screen with Robin was excellent. My face-to-face with one of the employees and Robin did not go well. Although Robin was great, asked wonderful questions, and was very professional during the interview one of the employees was rude, condescending, and overbearing. He wasn't even the supervisor for this position, Robin would have been the supervisor. He would have only been a co-worker with a higher title than me. One of the employees was incredibly judgmental of my experience, presence in the interview and was constantly cutting off Robin when she spoke (Very rude and dismissive of Robin's authority as the owner and face of the company). Something that should never happen in an interview with a potential employee who is an outside executive with high-profile contacts. When I first came in, one of the employees was already making snotty remarks about my resume right when I sat down. He had a chip on his shoulder, and I felt it the moment I walked in the door. It was because of him, why I decided to withdraw my application soon after the face-to-face interview. After reviewing the employee's LinkedIn profile, and seeing his minimal career experiences I knew even more that I made the right decision to withdraw my application. I don't want to be micro-managed or disrespected by someone in an office who has next to zero experience outside of 1 company (Robin Baron Designs) or competence to tell me how to do my job (Zero Marketing, PR, media planning experience)! I also got the vibe that he might be the type to backstab, or report information to Robin and flex his office power to try and get someone removed from their job. I like Robin and I would definitely do some type of business in the future with her if it was presented to me, but based on my experience with one of the employee's I don't think I would work with that person in the future. It's very rude and unprofessional to behave the way this employee did in an interview.
