      Entretien

The first round was an interview with hiring manager and HR, the interview process was conducted in English. Starting with a self-introduction, she then asked me about my previous experience and work. Finally, there were a bunch of ML basics questions, such as metrics, RMSE, etc. It seemed that she had difficulty asking questions in a specific way, which made the interview process more challenging. I can tolerate this part since English is not her native language. However, the interviewer was rude and arrogant, which I found unacceptable. Throughout the interview process, she kept asking for information that I had already mentioned, implies that she was not listening. Even the HR representative sitting next to her could have helped me answer her questions. When I was explaining my work in my previous job, she kept challenging me without understanding the whole picture. Even when she realized she misunderstood something, she still acted superior. When discussing RMSE, while I was explaining the square inside the summation, she didn’t even let me finish and insisted that RMSE should be a square root instead of a square. I tried several times to explain that there should be a square, summation, and division by sample size before taking the square root. She rolled her eyes at me and still thought she was right. Finally, she mentioned my full-stack experience and asked what tech stack I used. I said mainly Java and its libraries like Spring Boot/Hibernate. When I clarified that Java is for backend development, she asked if Spring Boot is for frontend development. I was impressed by how ignorant she was. In the end, I found out that she had only QA experience over the last 10 years, and I have no idea how she reached her current position. I am definitely not interested in working with such an arrogant and ignorant person, let alone being managed by them.
