J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Revolut (Kraków) en oct. 2024
Entretien
Strange interview experience. The interviewer was apparently not a technical person, 95% of the session was him doing a presentation about Revolut who they are etc. Then at the end he started asking 2-3 simple questions, probably questions which were given to him to ask and he was expecting a word by word copy of what is written in front of him as correct answer. I answered them. Last question was what is CQRS, I started explaining what it is by also mentioning that I forgot what it stands for but didn't really bother with the abbreviation as was focused on explaining what it is, but he interrupted me saying 'let me tell you what CQRS is' and started reading what is written in front of him apparently not listening to whta I already answered but got stuck at that I don't remember the abbreviation at that moment. Then I got rejected before having a real technical interview. I strongly doubt he was a technical person and it was strange for me to have a non-technical person assesing the answer to a technical open-ended question.
HR -> Live coding -> Tech -> System design
Overall the before starting the recruitment process it's worth mastering concurrency, DB(especially PostgresSQL), and transaction management. Company seems to be working mostly with Java, Kotlin and a little with Scala
I got contacted by a recruiter. As a first step, I had a call with another recruiter. He was also asking technical questions, but it felt strange. (A bit like talking to a wall.)
I was rejected with a generic message stating that I was not "aligned with the position". This is weird as it was inbound and based on my profile. No feedback, of course.
Waste of time.
Very kind. The questions weren’t easy, but with knowledge of database configurations, concurrency, locks, and some practical experience, you are able to answer them clearly, confidently, and effectively overall. It was good time.
