      Entretien pour Language Owner

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Revolut (Kraków) en mars 2021

      Entretien

The recruitment process had 4 parts: an interview with my potential future team leader (30 minutes), a written home task, an interview with someone who speaks the same language as me (to verify language skills), and one more interview, this time with an Operations Manager (30 minutes). The interviews were conducted via Google Meet and I could comfortably book time slots that suited me. The written task consisted of 3 parts: I had to write an article about a given topic (in English and in my language), write an advertising Facebook post (again in both languages), and translate+format an email from English to my language. The interviews were pretty smooth and friendly, with no tricky questions, they also answered all my questions and doubts. Only the second interview (checking my language skills) was weird, the person did not know about the interview and therefore joined late and very unprepared. He was also supposed to give me feedback on my home task, but basically could not, as he only checked it for spelling and grammar mistakes. He could not give me feedback on the content, as he personally does not work in content/marketing team. This was very strange and gave me a feeling that even though I spent about 6 hours writing the task and doing research, the content was actually not assessed at all. The biggest disappointment came after my last interview. I did not receive any info about when the decision will be made, as they said the recruitment was ongoing and would last until they found the right person. I kept sending emails and asking about the result, but with little success - they were either replying that they needed more time, or not replying at all. After two months after my last interview, I gave up and assumed I was not hired. I feel my time and effort were just wasted, as I was not even worth a reply and feedback. That being said, I must say that even though the interviews were very friendly, communication with the HR department is tragic. They mostly ignore you.

I got headhunted on LinkedIn, twice. The second time, I decided to have screening interview a week after. It was just an overview of the job and the salary range. I sent them an email stating that unfortunately the salary range was too low for me, but I was willing to negotiate. They ghosted me. A week after someone else from their company sent me a test for the wrong job, without mentioning the negotiation of salary. I pointed out the fact that the test they sent me was not relevant to the job I was interviewing for and that again the salary range was too low for me. They ghosted me again. It was rude, and unprofessional, especially since they are the ones who contacted me on LinkedIn. Their HR process are not well streamed and needs to be reviewed.

Revolut's HR found my profile on LinkedIn and we scheduled an interview. What I can say: it was the shortest interview in my life, like 5-7 minutes. The person who was handling online interview was different, so she just briefly read a job description to me, didn't ask me anything as well as didn't let me ask her any questions. And just told me that they will contact me later. After few days, I've got automatic rejection letter and huge question mark why did they waste my time I've spent preparing for this joke interview.

Was contacted by recruiter via email and had 3 stages of interviews, none of them with HR/recruiter so no one presented the company. Interviewers seemed not to have communicated between each other and each interview was not a step forward of the previous one. First interview was a screening with someone from the team, second interview was a language assessment and the last one was interview with the hiring manager. Between the interviews I had tasks which took a lot of personal time, the first one took me a full day. I had to book the interviews through a calendar for a time convenient for me but one of the meetings got rescheduled without my consent. The first two interviews went fine but the hiring manager was someone around his 20s,he was negative ane rude since the beginning and during the whole time he was trying to highlight my lack of experience in working professionally with my native language. In a way that demotivated me completely. He did not ask anything about my skills. He didn't even once look at the camera. He tried asking me a question to evaluate how I'd approach a scenario but unfortunately his question was related to their internal processes, so I got really confused on what he wanted me to respond. After the entire process I didn't get any reply back on my application, not even a rejection despite the time spent through the interview journey and despite the efforts on the home task. I contacted the recruiter after a month just to know if I shouldn't consider the role any more but I never received a response. It's very unprofessional not to consider a rejection, especially when someone dedicated dozen of hours on this interviewing process.
