I applied for the position two weeks ago via linking. till the moment, I had two interviews one with a human resources lady and yesterday with a product head. In overall my experience was really nice because both interviewers were really kind to me, I manage to express myself really even English is not my main language. They make me feel comfortable along with the whole interview. I expect I had a good performance and I`m looking forward to receiving the good news and start working!!!

A 30 minutes screening call with HR and 30 min call with Head of Ops. Very short process. It’s mostly about your motivation to join the team and how would you sell the product.

      Entretien

I was so excited when my application was selected for the initial interview, but by the end I had stopped caring. For what it's worth, having been through the entire recruitment process I think many of the negative reviews and experiences found here resonate with my own experience. I have elaborated a bit on that below: Firstly, it took AGES. I recieved my invitation to the first interview on October 1st, I was finally told that I didnt get the position on December 1st. Thats 8 weeks of effort, research, nerves and planning gone! Its such a pitty, I really tried my best to get this job. Having said that, I do think Revolut will likley be faster than this in other teams as I'm aware this was a totally new team being buildt and we are still in Covid times. Second, for a junior sales rep role, I felt the process was way too over the top, it was akin to an investment bank or consultancy role, with 4 interviews and a take home task (which is substantial if you want to take the time to research and present well. It took me an entire weekend!). What is more, the interviews vigorously probe you and basically interrogate you on your way of thinking. They want to find super smart and cutthroat people for their roles, which I understand but it made the interviews feel very cold and adversarial, like I was being suspected of something and pressed hard to defend everything I say vigorously. Third, I got a really bad vibe from them overall, grim, blunt and intense. I know this is totally subjective opinion, and maybe they behave this way intentionally to scare off the "wusses" and get those hardcore STEM grad grinders they are looking for to fit their culture, but I found a number of the behaviours/themes I noticed through the process to be appaling. The interviewer was late for every single one of my 4 interviews with them, also 2 had to be rescheduled. It's a minor point but still worth mentioning. Each of my 4 interviewers were not welcoming in the slightest. I understand if you wouldnt do that for the first screen but for someone who has gotten to the end, you wouldnt even crack a smile or show even the slightest interest in me as a person? What is more, they were also impatient and interrupted me blunty numberous times while giving an answer. One example of that is when I was describing a sucess story from the past, not kidding, I literally was in the middle of my second sentence when I was interrupted with "Ok, just get to the point, what is the central problem??", I was just about to get to that if you let me finish.... Its hard to put into words, I guess I just felt a lot of coldness, they had no sense of humor and are clearly not great listeners! Another thing which I felt was weird coming from them is the feedback I recieved around saying the "S" word once or twice during an interview, apparently that was highly significant. I could go on but just know that these guys are really serious and will probe deeply on your answers. When applying for this job at Revolut, I was shocked to see the many negative reviews and even news articles about them. I dissmissed them all as the rantings of wannabe's and haters who couldnt hack it at Revolut (maybe I fall into this catagory), but having been through it now I would say it is not at all unfounded. Look, Revolut's sucesses as a business speak for itself, its an industry defining company which is truly in a unique position in the UK, but I think they have a lot of work to do on the people side of things, this will likley come with time. Apply to them by all means but it isnt for the faint of heart, and I feel like they want it that way, which is fair play I guess. Be ready mentally for some of the things I described and good luck to you! Im a bit sad I didnt make it ultimatley, but having seen what I did, I feel like it wasnt for me anyway. Im a sunshine yellow kind of guy, I work hard and am competitive for sure but I also like to have a laugh and a supportive team behind me doing it together.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

Why do you want to leave yoour current job? (I was asked this question in all of the interviews amazingly). What is your biggest weakness? Tell me about a complex problem which you solved from end-to-end How should Revolut increase its profit margins? Why was the payback period of aquisitions through a recent promotional campaign significantly less than expected? I would say the questions were some of the hardest I have ever encountered, I cant remember them all anymore.
