I recently went through the application process at Remote, and unfortunately, it was far from what I expected. The initial excitement of applying to a company I admired quickly turned into frustration.
The communication throughout the process was minimal and vague. Despite reaching out for updates, responses were delayed or non-existent, leaving me in the dark about my application status the majority of the time.
The interview itself felt more like an interrogation than a professional exchange. Questions were often condescending, and the interviewers didn’t allow me the opportunity to fully express my qualifications or ask questions about the role and company culture. The interviewers were definitely prepared prior to the interview taking place.
While I understand that not every job application will result in a hire, I believe every candidate deserves respect and clear communication. This experience has unfortunately altered my perception of Remote, a place I once held in high regard.
To Remote, I hope you take this feedback as an opportunity to improve your hiring process. A company’s approach to potential employees is reflective of its overall culture, and every candidate deserves a fair and respectful treatment.
