Red hat interview process was a shame, and by far the most inferior I've ever encountered of.
After I applied online, the recruiter called and convinced me that I an not appropriate fit for the position, but luckily, she had a "very similar" (lower graded) position that I can apply to. She also verified my compensation expectations before moving on, while noting that is too high for them.
It took us 3 weeks to find a slot for my interview, mainly because the team was not available for interviews (they were busy interviewing others and participated a conference).
On the contrary - The interviewers seemed professional, asking coherent questions about my previous experience while explaining all details about the position.
After not hearing back for a week, I asked the recruiter about my application process and was responded with "We are still interviewing other candidates, will hopefully return to you in a week". Of course, she didn't mind return an answer at all.
Its noteworthy that the Israeli law clearly states that interview applicant should have a clear, detailed, formal response within 2 months after the interview, or 14 days after the position has been filled.
I sent the recruiter a gentle reminder about my application, and got a lousy response of "Oh, I am sorry, probably missed you, but the position was filled a week ago. I'll send you a formal update". Needless to say, this was never done.
If that's the way they treat their candidates, I can only wonder how they treat their employees.
