J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez ROSS VIDEO (Ottawa, ON) en août 2019

      Entretien

The interview process was very simple: I applied online and sent my resume to a current employee for a referral, had a 5 minute over the phone interview with HR, and then had an onsite interview with two supervisors.

First off, as a trans woman, everyone involved used exclusively my chosen name, and not my deadname. The fact that I was trans was never brought up, even if do not pass. Incredibly grateful for Ross for that. After filling the application online I was invited to book an interview with HR. Was able to do so the following day. 1st with HR, basic questions about familiarity with the Ross company, why leaving my current position, why wanting this position, what requirements of the job are already in my current one. She also explained the modalities of the job and what I could expect in the following interviews. Second interview with two managers in Europe, one of Wich will be my direct manager. More specific questions about how I would go about solving problems, prioritize tasks, handle clients ect... They were able to give more specific details about the position and answer more specific questions. Here comes the "bad" part of the process unfortunately... I was then ghosted for 2 weeks despite sending email to the HR that I had for the first interview. Turns out she was not anymore on this position, but I was made aware of that by a friend that applied for the same position. Ross came back to me then (and apologized, I must say) and I did the third interview with an upper manager based on Ottawa, questions were more personal, probably to see if I would be a good fit for the team. It was a bit more formal, and way shorter. Received the answer that I got the job a week later. And started the paperwork with the new HR on the offering, that is based in canada. Overall very positive experience, outside of the ghosting. No questions that I was asked were "cliché" HR questions, I was very at ease in the first two interview, less so in the third one. (The 6h time difference between Ottawa and Paris, and the fact that I was not in holidays anymore probably did not help). Everyone were involved were pleasant and able to answer my questions ! Look forward meeting the team !

Applied online. Was contacted and took part in an over-the-phone interview. A typical H.R. interview, non-technical. A written test was set up, which was technical. I completed the test and a few days later I was invited for an in-person interview. I was not given much information on what the interview would consist of. I prepared for both technical and procedural questions. Interview consisted of a few basic behavioral questions followed by a forty minute technical portion, followed by numerous questions on my current job. Interview lasted approximately 2 hours. The main problems with this interview experience: - The interviewers seemed overly interested in finding out how my current employer did things. They asked questions about how my team operated as a whole, how the management and task delegation worked, how we handled error reports, how the system tracked these errors, etc. Many of these questions were about things far outside the scope of my current job. At one point one of the interviewers turned to another one and said something along the lines of "What do you think, Name, could we look at implementing something like that?" - I did not get the job, thanked them for the opportunity, and asked if there was anything I could improve on. They replied saying that I was qualified but they decided to go with a more experienced candidate. The job has remained posted for several months. The points above have led me to believe that they were more interested in gathering information on how other companies are doing similar work than actually hiring someone for the role. Seems like they intentionally wasted my time.
