J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Quantcast (Austin, TX) en sept. 2016

      Entretien

I applied August 2016 and was contacted via email a week later asking for my availability. My phone interview was going to be with a recruiter from Dublin, Ireland which I found weird because I was applying for a position in Austin, TX. When the day came to have the interview, the guy called in 30 minutes late! I brushed it off and asked him how he was doing, he said I've been better..actually, can we reschedule. He didn't give me a reason why but I was nice and agreed. We rescheduled for a date in September. The day came and he was 15 min late, said he was commuting home and just got off the train. At this point, I'm getting even more frustrated since he was the one who said he'd be available at such time. Again he asked if we could reschedule since he was not prepared. Unfortunately, I agreed and we set another date. That date came and he was 2 HOURS LATE to the phone interview. I make sure to leave him an email everytime he is 15 min late to the interview asking him when would be a good time to reschedule. He called me 2 HOURS LATER and had asked me if this was still a good time to talk. I told him that our interview was 2 hours ago and that I am busy now, which I was! I agreed to another rescheduled interview, and this would be my last straw. On the day of my interview, he called me 30 MINUTES before my interview. I was finishing up something else and had to leave it only to have a generic 15 min interview. This was on a Friday afternoon, and he said he would talk to the people in the department if I should advance. On Monday exactly at 9 am I got an email from him saying I would not move forward. I was angry because it seemed as if there was no effort from them to think about my candidacy and I spent a month just trying to go through the first interview. This has been the worst interview experience of my life. Please don't go through what I did. Quantcast please teach your recruiters, especially the guy from Ireland, to be considerate and professional!!!! What I went through was unacceptable!!!!

      Question 1

What kind of dog do you have? (He asked me this after hearing my dog bark and became more interested in my dog than interviewing me about my skills.)

J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Quantcast

      Entretien

It was informative, and not very stressful. The technical part consisted of basic SQL questions. Quantcast is an interesting company with interesting people. The interviewers were very nice, and they asked reasonable questions pertinent to the job.

Contacted by a recruiter located in Dublin. Had a very pleasant phone screen. I was given a test to complete and send it back to the recruiter. Test was mainly to test your analytical skills, math skills and SQL knowledge. Then had another phone interview with potential manager. I was invited to an on-site interview with 5 team members, took about 3 hours. Everyone was incredibly friendly and intellectual. I thought I nailed it but I was rejected. Reason being my background wasn't exactly what their looking for.

      Entretien

I was contacted by their recruiting dept and did a 30 minute phone call where I specifically stated that I did not have the set of technical skills they sought. I repeated that to the hiring manager in a second 30 minute phone call and got the feeling from both that it's ok to have a different background. I took a skills test and I proceeded to a set of 4 back to back 30 minute interviews, some via video, one in person. That was exhausting and the analysts that interviewed me seem to want to see that I have the technical background. I understand that since they do the work. Guess what I was turned down from this position for? Lacking the technical skills needed. Overall, the company was very professional and they seem like they're a great bunch to work with but I wish they took the requirements more seriously so that I didn't need to go through all those interviews only to be told something I already know.
