Long, drawn out process. Involved about 8 1:1 interviews that should have been condensed into a panel discussion as many questions across the team were repetitive. A few team members with backgrounds more closely aligned with my own were so lovely and made me really excited about the possibility of contributing to the team. However, 3 specific interviewers seemed uninterested to be involved and almost drove me to remove myself from the process. Two weren’t even sure which role I was interviewing for and the hiring manager was so clearly looking for a candidate with a background that mirrored his own, there didn’t seem to be a path towards success on his team. After months of being dragged along and a lot of direct comms with the recruiter for this position, I received a very corporate, automated rejection email which told me all I needed to know about the organization.
