      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Qualtrics (Dublin, Dublin) en oct. 2022

      Entretien

Slow and long. I did eight interviews for two different roles. I applied on LinkedIn and through their career site with a cover letter. They pretended to care about me as a resource by morbidly attaching themselves to the company's cultural values for two months, alternating between comforting and cold attitudes and then discarding me in the blink of an eye like any other multinational company. Each interview included one preparation email with files attached, lots of tips and practice questions, a description of the interview and a link of who I would meet. All interviews were on zoom except for the phone screening. Feedback was provided by email 24/48 hours later. I applied for the position of Product Specialist in Dublin, €37k per year. The hr who followed me through the first interview process for the first position was very helpful and polite. She also gave me his phone contact for faster messaging on the interview process. 1 step: telephone screening interview with this HR with simple questions such as academic background, state of residence, willingness to relocate, reason for company choice. Positive feedback 2 step: technical interview with Qautrics engineer on Zoom. Before the interview they asked me to study a SQL database language. They provided me with a tutorial site with many test exercises and an online editor to practise. During interview the engineer made me do exercises during 45 minutes zoom call. Polite person. Positive feedback Step 3: Interview with a member of the team on Zoom. Questions about how I relate in the workplace with employees, superiors, how I work, how I manage my time (more questions) interview of medium difficulty Positive feedback 4. interview with HR external to Qualtrics in native language (for me Italian) . Questions about TACOS on Zoom (corporate cultural values) simple questions, easy interview but requires preparation Positive feedback 5. final interview on zoom with the head of the department. Questions on working relationships, working methods, specific cases, questions on how to prioritise tasks. medium difficulty. Negative feedback After this last step they called me telling me that i was TOO QUALIFIED for the role and they were going to divert me to another higher role which they said was PERFECT for me: SCALE ASSOCIATE which would be opened a month later. the hr of the first position bounced me to a male hr for the second position. for this second process they decided to give me a pass on the first 3 interviews and only let me do the last two preceded by a screening (why let me do a screening if they already knew me?). Here too, an interview preparation email. phone screening with role description. the new hr knew my background in qualtrics. Easy. 4. step (it would be the first for me for the other candidates it was the fourth) technical interview. Zoom interview with snooty young man of higher rank who had already been in the company for a few years and who test me on real case studies. He seemed to be acting up, alternating between moments of friendliness and moments where he seemed almost annoyed to talk to a candidate in a lower role. He felt obliged to object to my answers. Difficult 1 hour interview. initially positive feedback as the director of this department was on holiday I was scheduled for the final interview more than two weeks after the step. A few days after the interview after an email from me asking for confirmation I am told that a member already in qualtrics had been chosen for this role. I decide to speak openly without half-measures both with the HR who was following me for this second role and with the first HR. I schedule a call with one and then with the other: I ask why the selection process had not been terminated and the candidate chosen at the end like any other company but had been abruptly interrupted. No explanation was given. I ask why I was recommended for this role which had been described as perfect for me. I am told that the first hr had done everything possible for me and that he did not know the role for which I had been recommended very well. I state clearly that I was not treated well, because I was on hold for two months only to be discarded like this. I am told that they are a multinational company that has hundreds of selection processes in place and that we are basically numbers. Basically every question I asked was bounced back to me as if I were talking to a wall. I asked if it was possible to be inserted on a waiting or preferential list for future roles since I had taken two months in Qualtrics interviews processes. Negative answer: I can only check the careers site from time to time for re-applying. We are not robots or animals. A lot of emphasis on corporate cultural values ("TACOS": Transparent. All In. Customer Obsessed. One Team. Scrappy.) to then be treated like poop. = you are just a number.
