After applying, I was contacted about a role in Finance. We scheduled a phone interview with one of the managers. We spoke on the phone for about 30 minutes. After that I never heard from the company.
I have a pet peeve about companies not thanking you for your time, or telling you you’re not moving ahead in the hiring process. It’s understandable if it’s just a submitted application, but if you call someone to schedule a phone interview, in-person interview, or even a skills test, the least you can do is shoot them a note to say “thank you, but we’ve decided to move ahead with other candidates”. Don’t just ghost them.
