I walked in, asked to speak with the store manager, walked up to his office with him after shaking his hand, he spoke about himself and Publix for about an hour, maybe asked me a total of 3 questions about my past job, why I'm leaving, how much they pay me, and then told me that if I scored an interview that means I got a good score on the questionaire and that I was already hired, took me downstairs, signed some papers, drug tested me, and sent me on my way to await a phone call to start orientation.

Manager wanting to hear about you, your skills and basic knowledge. Showing respect and enthusiasm. Basic, getting to know the company, a friendly environment and the challenges it may come with.
It was a hiring event so about ten people were doing interviews all at once. They had several store managers doing the interviews. I had a district manager interview me.
